General

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune said that the Arab region is going through a critical phase, considering it a “decisive stage, laden with challenges and crises, as evidenced by the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Tebboune, An his speech delivered at the 33rd Arab Summit by Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, pointed to the threats facing the people of Gaza and the overall Palestinian issue, emphasizing the dangers it faces, saying that the Arab Summit is convened in a difficult international context and an even more difficult regional context, as the acute crisis that hit the international relations system has become a recurring reality with its repercussions and fallout affecting the world as a whole indiscriminately.

He considered that the failure that has affected the mechanisms of multilateral international action, foremost among them the United Nations and the Security Council, is nothing but an indicator of this acute crisis that continues to jeopardize the present and future of peace
, security, development, and prosperity in the world, explaining that the central cause is in dire need of a united and strong Arab nation to lead the supporters and those striving for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as a just, permanent, and final solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.

He added that in addition to the priorities dictated by the current phase, intensifying pressure to stop the Israeli aggression and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid and halting the forced displacement of Palestinians, Algeria believes that post-war Gaza should be fundamentally different and require unity, unified efforts, and mobilization to establish a conflict resolution on fair, permanent, and final bases, as recognized by the international community through established references, standards, and legitimacy.

The Algerian president emphasized, in his speech, the necessity for the post-Gaza war reality to lead to the realization of the Palestinian national project, represented by the establish
ment of an independent Palestinian state, without any restrictions, conditions, or obstacles.
