32 Killed in Afghanistan Attacks

Kabul, July 12 (QNA) – At least 32 people were killed in two bombings and a separate attack on security checkpoints in Afghanistan on Saturday, officials said.

Insurgents attacked security checkpoints in the district of Alingar, in eastern Laghman province, said Sarhadi Zowak, the provincial governor’s spokesman.

15 militants and seven Afghan security officers were killed in the clashes which continued for five hours, Zowak said.

In southern Afghanistan, a roadside bomb struck a vehicle, killing at least eight people, including three children, police said.

In a separate incident, one civilian and a policeman were killed and a child wounded when a bomb placed on a motorbike exploded in Jalalabad, the capital city of Nangarhar province. (QNA)
