23rd International Festival of African Cinema Kicks off in Morocco

The 23rd International Festival of African Cinema kicked off in Khouribga in Morocco, with the participation of 27 films from 15 countries. It will run until May 13.

Twelve films from ten African countries, including Morocco, Cameron, Congo, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, Egypt, Kenya, Mozambique and Guinea will compete in the festival's official long film category.

Fifteen short films from 13 countries, including Morocco, Senegal, Benin, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tunisia, Ghana and Burkina Faso.

The 23rd International Festival of African Cinema, in which Cameroon is a guest of honour, is marked by the organization of the official competition for the short film for the first time in its history.

The Festival has been held in Khouribga since 1977 and is one of the oldest film festivals in Morocco, and the third continental after Fespaco and Carthage festivals.
