22 Taliban Militants Killed in Afghan Military Operations

Kabul, June 24 (QNA) – At least 22 Taliban militants were killed following military operations by Afghan national security forces during the past 24 hours.

The Afghan Ministry of Interior said in a statement the operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Laghman, Sar-e-Pul, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Logar, Herat, Badghis and Helmand provinces.

The statement further added that Afghan national police, Afghan national amy and Afghan intelligence operatives jointly conducted the operations, according to (Khaama Press).

At least 12 Taliban militants were also injured and five others were detained during the operations, the interior ministry said.

The statement also added that Afghan national security forces confiscated various types of heavy and light weapons along with the ammunition and explosives.

Afghan police forces discovered and seized seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during operations in Kunduz, Logar, Farah and Helmand provinces.

The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far. (QNA)
