Euro Rises, Yen Fragile

The euro rose on Monday, while the yen struggled to break away from a near 38-year low.

The euro was last 0.4% higher at $1.0759, around a two-week high.

Against the dollar, sterling rose 0.11% to $1.2659, while the Aussie dipped 0.07% to $0.66655.

Japan’s Stocks Rise

Tokyo stocks rose Monday morning after the Bank of Japan’s Tankan survey showed a better-than-expected improvement in sentiment among major manufacturers.
