146 Emiratis graduate from du’s Masar programme

WAM DUBAI: A recently held ceremony marked the graduation of 146 Emirati employees from du’s Masar programme. Present at the event were the graduates, their colleagues, line managers, and representatives from du’s executive management. The event was managed and delivered by Graduate Trainees from the Masar programme.

The graduates were presented with their certificates by du’s Chairman, Ahmad bin Byat, CEO, Osman Sultan, Chief Human Resources and Shared Services Officer, Fahad Al Hassawi, Senior Vice President for Human Resources, Yaser Obaid, and Senior Director National Recruitment ‘&’ Development, Jamal Khalifa Lootah, During the ceremony, du lauded Masar training partners, for their support and dedication to the programme. Representatives from each partner company were presented with certificates of appreciation for their efforts.

“We congratulate the 146 UAE nationals who have graduated today from the Graduate Trainee, Bedaya and Tamayaz divisions of our Masar programme. They have proven themselves to be dedicated individuals, and given their utmost to achieving excellence throughout their training,” said Ahmad bin Byat. “I would like to thank each of the graduates for their hard work and sincerity, and would also like to thank our training partners for their efforts in developing our colleagues’ skills and knowledge.” During the Masar development programme, the trainees were guided through dedicated initiatives. These included, amongst others, more than 200 one-to-one coaching sessions in line with their individually created Personal Development Programmes (PDPs); tailor-made classroom training programmes; Multaqa networking sessions with renowned guest speakers, and the opportunity to participate in several volunteer programmes.

The development of Emirati employees’ capabilities at du is not limited to those enrolled in Masar programmes. Continued support schemes for UAE nationals at du include: – PDP – Personal development plans are created for them, through which development requirements are captured in a conversation about performance between employee and the line manager. The needed development is then delivered by du’s Learning and Development team in shape of different development activities – Talent pools – They are eligible to join the Mustaqbal talent pool.

– Learning anywhere – anytime – They have access to more than 300 online courses, including diplomas, short courses and videos. They can participate in these courses from anywhere, at any time.

– Maharaat – du’s in-house training calendar provides face to face training for all core competencies for all levels.

– Power Hours – These are short and to the point learning sessions to pick up everyday business and management skills, to have tackle day to day work-related challenges.
