100 players participate in Karate Competitions

Doha: The Karate Competitions at the QOC Beach Games began on Tuesday with participation of 100 players from different age groups.

Mohamed Majed from Al Wakra team and Mostafa Ammar from Al Ahli team shared the third place and bronze medals of Men's event.

In girls event, Jana Mohamed from Qatar Academy and Nada Al Yazidi from X Factor team shared the third place while finals will be staged on Friday .

On the other hand, Al Thakhira and Al Mashaf led the standings of Group A and B at Football Competitions. Al Mashaf recorded three victories to occupy the first place in Group B ahead of Cedars in the second place with 6 points.

In Group A, Al Thakhira led the standings with 6 points from two victories while Al Rowad finished the first round in the second place.

Al Mashaf will now take Al Rawad while Al Thakhira will shake hands with Cedars in the semifinals while the finals will be held on Friday.

Moreover, Lusail will take on Al Nosoor and Al Waab will shake hands with Al Adaam in the semifinals of men's volleyball event while in Women's event, Al Ettihad Academy 2 will take on Al Moharebeen and Al Maha Academy will face Al Ettihad Academy 1.

The semifinals of basketball event will be also held on Wednesday as Infinity RM21 will take on Evo Basketball 7 while Lebanon will face Pro Sports Lebanon.

In Women's event, Pro Sports while take on Qatar Team B while Sports Lab will face Qatar Team A.

In basketball event for girls under 18 years, Team Qatar 1 will take on Team Qatar 2 while Fame Team will shake hands with Siu Team.

The Tournament Director Rashid Saeed Adiba announced that the QOC will organize a beach volleyball championship for its employees on Thursday on the side lines of the second edition of the QOC Beach Games.

“Beach sports have become more effective in attracting an increasing number of athletes as we are edging closer to reach our goals by taking our awareness about importance of sport to greater levels.” Said Adiba.
