QATAR TO BOOST ITS LNG OUTPUT TO 100MTA

Qatar Petroleum (QP) President and Chief Executive Officer Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi has announced that QP will enhance its LNG production from 77 to 100 million tons per annum (Mta), which represents an increase of 30%. This new project is expected to be completed between 5 and 7 years.

Al-Kaabi stated that after project completion, Qatar's total production would reach 6 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, and that the project would further enhance the country's leading position in the global gas industry, while at the same time meeting its worldwide customers' growing needs for the reliable and environmentally friendly fuel.

The planned production expansion will also contribute to increase Qatar's resources and to stimulate the domestic economy as well as the country's overall development in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
