Qatar Participates in Arab Economic Committee Meeting

Cairo, The economic committee of the Arab Economic and Social Council kicked off at the Arab League General Secretariat headquarters on Monday under the chairmanship of Algeria.

The meeting aims at preparing the economic file to be presented before the ministerial meeting of the Council next Thursday, in preparation to submit it to the upcoming Arab Summit in Jordan on March 29.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs Ambassador Kamal Hassan Ali said that discussions during the two-day meeting will focus on the economic and social files to be submit it to the 28th Arab Leaders Summit in Jordan, and the recommendations of the 4th Arab-African summit which was held in the capital Malabo last November.

He added that the participants will also discuss the implementation of the Riyadh Declaration issued by the 4th Arab- South American Countries summit, the economic cooperation between the Arab League and the United Nations, investment in Arab countries, and other economic issues.

Assistant Chairman of the General Authority of Customs Ahmed Issa Al Muhannadi is heading Qatar's delegation to the meeting.
