QATAR HAS EXPRESSED REGRET OVER STATEMENTS’ CONTENT

The State of Qatar has expressed regret at the content of the two statements issued by the four blockading countries in Cairo and Jeddah, an official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha said.

The false accusations contained in both statements represent an attempt to smear the State of Qatar, and run contrary to the established bases of relations between countries, he added.

The Foreign Ministry official further described the content of the two statements regarding Qatar's alleged interference in the internal affairs of countries and financing terrorism as baseless claims and allegations.

The source further indicated that Qatar's stance on terror is consistent and known for its denunciation of terrorism and rejecting it in all its forms and shapes irrespective of its causes and motives.

It also added that the State of Qatar is an active participant in the fight against terrorism and its financing at both regional and international levels and fully committed to international conventions in this regard, a fact supported by the testimony of the international community.

The statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the accusation that the State of Qatar leaked the list of demands by the four countries is baseless and is refutable by evidence.

The statement referred to the Emir of Qatar's letter to the Emir of Kuwait, as the mediator in this crisis, in which he had confirmed Qatar's appreciation, as Emir, government and people, of his sincere and generous efforts to end this crisis.

The letter further expressed Qatar's readiness to cooperate on and investigate all the allegations that do not infringe on its sovereignty under the patronage of the esteemed mediator himself or whomsoever he designates.-
