Mohammed bin Zayed receives President of Ukraine

WAM Abu Dhabi, Nov 26th, 2012 (WAM)–His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received at al-Bahr Palace President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, who is currently paying three-day long state visit to the country.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed President Yanukovych, lauding the growing ties between the United Arab Emirates and Ukraine, and the keenness of the two countries on strengthening the cooperation ties in service of interest of the two countries and friendly peoples.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince stressed during the meeting importance of exchanging visits between the officials of two countries, and working hard to expand the cooperation.

The two sides discussed ways to boost the mechanisms of joint cooperation between the two countries, especially in the agricultural sector. They also tackled the latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest.

For his part, the Ukrainian President expressed his pleasure for visiting the UAE and meeting its leadership, stressing that his country appreciates the wise policies of the UAE regarding the regional and international issues. He said Ukraine is interested in enhancing the ties with the UAE in all fields.

Present were Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, the Speaker of the Federal National Council, H. H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Eastern Region, H. H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, H. H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs and Head of honour mission accompanying the President of Ukraine, a number of Sheikhs and senior officials.
