H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, on Monday met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Prof. Dr. Srdjan Darmanovic, to discuss ways of enhancing cooperation and developing bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields to promote mutual interests.

During the meeting, which was held as part of Sheikh Abdullah's official visit to Montenegro, the two sides also exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern and the latest regional and international developments, where the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the UAE's keenness to strengthen its relations of cooperation with Montenegro in various sectors.

Dr. Darmanovic welcomed Sheikh Abdullah's visit to his country, stressing the importance of enhancing bilateral relations of cooperation. He also lauded the position the UAE enjoys at the regional and international levels.

Following the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Darmanovic held a joint press conference, where the UAE Minister expressed his delight with the fruitful outcomes of his discussions with his Montenegrin counterpart.

Sheikh Abdullah said that the two countries enjoy many investment opportunities that will open doors for partnerships in various sectors, bringing great benefits to both sides.

He added that Montenegro enjoys unique tourism qualities that make it attractive to people all around the world, stressing the special attention the UAE pays to developing its own tourism sector as part of its efforts for economic diversification.

The UAE Minister went on to praise the air transport sector, especially flydubai, for its contribution in boosting economic relations between the two friendly countries by offering direct flights to and from Montenegro.

Dr. Darmanovic in turn expressed his delight in hosting Sheikh Abdullah, adding that economic relations between the two countries are witnessing a remarkable development, as the UAE is one of the largest foreign investors in Montenegro. He added that operating direct flights between the two countries supports those economic and tourism relations, before expressing his hope to see the number of flights between the two countries increase in the future.

The meeting was attended by Abdul Salam Hareb Al Rumaithi, UAE Ambassador to Montenegro.
