Executive Bureau of the Arab Health Ministers Holds Meeting

Cairo, - The meeting the Executive Bureau of the Arab Ministers of Health started at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo Tuesday under the chairmanship of the State of Kuwait.

Participants in the ministerial meeting are health ministers of the Republic of the Comoros, Lebanon, Libya, Egypt, Mauritania and Yemen.

The agenda of the meeting includes a number of important health topics such as: presentation of successful and leading experiences of the member Arab countries in the health field, the logo of the Arab Health Day 2018, mental health, prevention and treatment of addiction and social support, the Arab Strategy to Fight AIDS (2014-2020), tobacco control, the Arab international cooperation in health field (Chinese-Indian), improving maternal, adolescent and child health in the Arab region, health legislation, Arab integration in the field of medicine, antimicrobial resistance, providing financial and technical support to the Palestinian health sector, providing health support for the Iraqi and Somali governments, Syrian refugees impact on the health sector in the host countries, and others.

A ministerial round table will be held under the theme: women's health and the challenges to cope with non-communicable diseases in the context of achieving sustainable development objectives 2030. The meeting is to be organized by the Arab Hospitals Federation.

Meanwhile, the 47th regular session of the council will held on Wednesday with participation of Arab health ministers from member states, and representatives from international and regional organizations, associations and Arab councils specialized in different areas of health.

Cairo Declaration on Arab women's health 2017 "Your Health is Our Priority" will be announced during the opening the session of the Arab Health Council meeting. (QNA)
