Association of Muslim Scholars Denounces Abduction of Girls in Nigeria

Makkah Al Mukarramah, June 05 (QNA) – The General Secretariat of the Association of Muslim Scholars of the Muslim World League has condemned the abduction of girls in Nigeria by Boko Haram group.

In a statement today, the Association emphasized that the principles of Islam and its teachings reject the terrorization of peaceful people and do not allow aggression on the vulnerable elderly, women and children, even in a state of war with the enemies.

The Association’s General Secretariat condemned such practices saying they have nothing to do with Islam but rather tarnish its image and give a pretext to the enemies of Islam to the challenge it, appealing to government agencies in Nigeria to work on what calls for unity in the community, and stay away from the causes of tension that provide a favourable climate for extremist groups to practice such acts.(QNA)
